Frequently Asked Questions:

The Questions Everyone Asks

How is this different from other SEL programs?

Most SEL curricula are either too academic (boring) or too fluffy (ineffective). We use story-driven learning with a consistent character kids actually care about, plus real-world application that sticks.  Ember grows with your child—from playful guide to wise mentor—so the lessons feel authentic at every age.

2

What if my child is neurodivergent?

Every lesson is built with Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Multiple ways to engage, process, and express learning. Visual cues, flexible pacing, choice-based activities. It works for all kinds of brains.

3

How much time does this actually take?

15-60 minutes per week, depending on your child's engagement and your schedule. No guilt if life happens—lessons are designed to be flexible. Some kids want to dive deep, others prefer bite-sized pieces. Both approaches work beautifully.

4

My teen rolls their eyes at everything. Will they actually do this?

We get it. That's why our 14-17 content doesn't talk down to them. We tackle identity, values, future planning, and leadership—the stuff that actually matters. Ember evolves from playful fox to wise guide, facing the same complex choices your teen does. No fluff, no condescension, just real tools for real life.

5

How do I know it's working?

You'll notice: better emotional vocabulary, more ownership of mistakes, improved conflict resolution, increased self-reflection. The changes are gradual but real. Kids start asking better questions. They pause before reacting. They repair relationships instead of avoiding them. That's character development you can actually see.
