Foundations Behind The Spark
Where research, reflection, and real growth come together.
Three Pillars That Ground Our Work

How We Built the RootedSparks Curriculum
RootedSparks was born from a simple question: What if we could help kids grow character the same way we teach reading or math, through practice, story, and reflection?
As parents and lifelong learners ourselves, we knew that many essential life skills like resilience, empathy, and purpose were often treated as “extras.” But they’re not extra. They’re foundational. So we got to work.
We collaborated with psychologists, educators, parents, and teens to shape a curriculum rooted in developmental psychology, social-emotional learning, and real-world experience. Then we added something, extra heart. Because lasting growth happens when research meets story, and when reflection leads to action.
Why Foundations Matters
When we talk about "life skills," we’re not just teaching behavior, we're growing who a child becomes. That requires trust, structure, creativity, and care. Every lesson we design is built to support:
-
Deep emotional growth
-
Real-world application
-
Inner motivation
-
A sense of safety and belonging
We ground our work in the most trusted educational and psychological research, and then translate it into experiences that feel human, doable, and meaningful.
