Our Real-Life Laboratory

Our family is a unique testing ground: a 20-year-old adapting to workforce changes, a 15-year-old navigating high school, and a 10-year-old discovering independence. Two neurodivergent learners, multiple school experiences—each revealing how children truly develop and thrive.

Why We're Here

We saw a gap: kids need life skills they can use right now. Conversations with parents confirmed families want practical, transferable skills that work across different situations and learning styles.

Who We Are

Chris brings a 20-year career at Disney, climbing to a senior executive level at a young age—knowing firsthand what it takes to find and create success in the real world. Kristin, a former high school paraeducator, offers firsthand insights into executive functioning and student success.

What We Believe

RootedSparks transforms personal challenges into universal learning opportunities—comprehensive skills kids can apply today, not someday.

Why Ember?

Our fox mascot makes mistakes and grows from them—because kids learn better from a relatable character figuring things out alongside them than from perfect adults telling them how to feel.

Ember gets overwhelmed, makes poor choices, and sometimes handles situations badly—just like real kids. Then he learns, tries again, and gets better. This gives children permission to be imperfect and shows them that mistakes are part of the journey, not failures to avoid.

What Grounds Us

Developmental psychology, Universal Design for Learning, and the deep belief that every child—neurotypical, neurodivergent, quiet, loud, artistic, analytical—deserves tools that honor how they learn and grow.

Why We're Here

This generation doesn't need more content—they need character-building tools. They don't need more apps—they need frameworks that help them become people they can be proud of.

That's what we build. That's why we're here.
